I’m delighted to announce that the winners of the Jonathan Witchell Memorial Prize for Best Radio Feature 2014, are Eilidh Campbell, Dionne Cassidy, Carolyn Kennedy, David Mercer and Alex Trimble for their piece “An American in Britain“. The feature profiles the volunteers on the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway. The Witchell family and friends have spent a lot of time listening to the features from the 3rd year module FMS9D6 and have written detailed comments about each one (see below what they had to say about “An American in Britain“). Many thanks to the family for their contribution to this, as it’s clear they feel very strongly about continuing this prize with us in memory of their son and brother, who was a Media Management Masters student with us some years ago. Thanks also to Jonathan’s friends in BBC radio who have listened carefully to the features and offered feedback.
Many congratulations to the winning team, who will receive their prizes when they return in September!
Feedback on “An American in Britain” : “Lovely sound fx and very descriptive. The first person approach is innovative and makes an interesting listen. The subject was great and we enjoyed it – Jonathan would have too”.
